I am graduate of the Public History Masters program at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario. I also hold a B.A. (Hons.) with a History major and Classical Studies minor from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. A dual citizen, I grew up in State College, Pennsylvania and currently am based in Ottawa, Ontario. As a social historian with an interest in the digital humanities, I have recently explored social network analysis and text mining as tools for memory studies and am interested in further investigations of these tools along with others. In general, I see digital history/humanities as offering an opportunity to expand how we understand the past and am intrigued with the potentials of both distant and close reading of archival sources. Along with training in history, I have some experience in archaeology. I am on twitter using @P_W_Holdsworth and use figshare to share my work.
